OPTI – Bond 289 – Nylon Additive for Plastisol Inks

Total Ink Solutions® Opti Bond 289 is a high-performance nylon bonding additive designed to enhance the adhesion of plastisol inks to nylon, polyester, and other hard-to-print synthetic fabrics. This powerful additive ensures superior durability, flexibility, and wash resistance, making it ideal for athletic wear, jackets, bags, umbrellas, and water-resistant textiles.

Opti Bond 289 chemically alters the ink's properties, allowing it to bond aggressively to non-porous surfaces. It also reduces dye migration, preventing color bleeding and maintaining vibrant prints.

Mixing Instructions:

• Mix Ratio: Add 15% - 20% of Opti Bond 289 by weight to plastisol ink.
• Stir Well: Mix thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
• Use Immediately: Do not mix more than needed, as the ink will harden over time once the additive is introduced.

Application Guidelines:

• Screen Mesh: 110-160 mesh for best ink coverage.
• Flash Temperature: 220°F (105°C) for 3-5 seconds.
• Curing Temperature: 320°F - 330°F (160°C - 165°C) for 40-50 seconds.
• Squeegee: 70-75 durometer with a firm, even pressure.
• Printing Technique: Medium flood stroke, firm print stroke for consistent ink deposit.
• Post-Pressing: A quick double press is recommended for increased durability.

Storage & Safety Information:

• Store in a cool, dry area between 65-80°F (18-27°C).
• Do NOT freeze—frozen additive will be unusable.
• Seal tightly after each use to maintain shelf life.
• Use protective gloves and proper ventilation when handling.
